The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston has built beautiful, gently curving ceiling canopies into the gallery spaces of their new building. These sloped canopies let in natural light, however, additional light is sometimes needed.
Litelab was hired to develop a series of hidden nodes for modular lighting that fit seamlessly into the ceiling canopies. The node represents an elegant solution to synthesizing a complex, variable program with a complex geometrical condition. The effect is magical – minuscule minimalist fixtures, floating in a diaphanous canopy of clouds.
