Founded in 1980 by Larry Gagosian in Los Angeles, Gagosian Gallery has grown into one of the most influential institutions in the contemporary art world. Renowned for representing both established and emerging artists, Gagosian has expanded globally with locations in New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, and beyond. Litelab exclusively manufactures high-end, custom lighting fixtures for Gagosian’s New York galleries, enhancing the presentation and experience of their prestigious exhibitions with cutting-edge design and technology.
Willem de Kooning: Endless Painting, opening April 15, 2025, at Gagosian’s newly renovated Chelsea gallery at 555 West 24th Street, presents a sweeping survey of the artist’s career from 1944 to 1986. Curated by Cecilia Alemani with support from The Willem de Kooning Foundation, the exhibition features pivotal paintings and two significant sculptures—Clamdigger (1972) and Standing Figure (1969–84). Through thoughtful curation, the show traces recurring visual motifs across decades of de Kooning’s work, highlighting his fluid movement between figuration and abstraction. Key loans from MoMA and the Guggenheim enrich the presentation, offering a rare view of the artist’s evolving yet consistently bold visual language.
